Meet the Team

FounderAfter a few months of experimenting with organic mushrooms, Ray Sumano put his business experience to work with the help of his wife Elena and with family. In Sep 2017, Sumano’s Organic Mushrooms was born in San Juan Bautista, Ca. Despite the rapid growth of the business, Ray’s vision has stayed the same: Produce the best possible quality mushrooms for his customers and apply the best organic growing practices.

Elena Sumano, who co-owns Sumano's Organic Mushrooms, embodies resilience and passion. Along with her husband, as a Mexican immigrant, Elena has nurtured the farm from a mere dream to a thriving reality. Even though Elena is not a traditional mushroom-growing expert, her deep passion for mushroom cultivation and her intuitive approach to learning and adapting has driven the farm's success. Apart from growing mushrooms, Elena also loves gardening and growing her own vegetables at home, which showcases her deep connection with nature and her commitment to providing the best organic food possible.

He has been in charge of carrying out his work experience in sales at the Sumanos Organic Mushrooms Farm. He has played a vital role in finding strategies for buyers and resellers, ensuring flexibility in response to an increasingly demanding organic green products market.
